Sean Frawley
I have three sons. Noah is 22, Sören is 19, and Harper is 17. As for me, I have been teaching at TCA for 20 years. I earned my undergrad at Palm Beach Atlantic University and my Masters at UCCS. I have written 5 books and a screenplay.
When I have free time, I enjoy spending it with my family. I have an insatiable craving for books, which is one of the things I stress most in my classroom. I play soccer. I enjoy running, weight lifting, jumping into a pool of cold water on a summer day, gardening, fly-fishing, swinging in a hammock, skipping rocks on a glassy pond, playing with my over-sized lap-dog named Suki, fantasy football, hugging my kids, playing video games, watching the Steelers or Liverpool win, listening to thunder storms, catching minnows, walking around the golf course, searching for my ball, drinking fruit punch and sweet tea, listening to music, ignoring the telephone, driving on hilly roads while the leaves are changing, thwarting my wife’s well laid plans for an orderly existence, basketball, eating cookies fresh from the oven, making people question their seriousness, sampling food in the grocery store, Hot Tamales, snow cones, air conditioning, movies, and making people read long and pointless lists.
Carly Hoff
This is my first full year teaching 6th grade at Central. I graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Reading Instruction, and an
emphasis in English Language Learning. I recently moved to Colorado Springs from San Diego, California in December of 2023 to work here at TCA Central!
Outside of school I enjoy being outside, swimming, hiking, and watching Jeopardy with my fiancé Adam! I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years starting when I was 8 all the way through my senior year of college and still love to get back in the pool whenever I can. On the weekends when I am not outside you can find me sitting on the couch watching football, baseball, or basketball. Although I am now a Coloradan, my hometown heart with always remain true to the San Diego Padres and LA Chargers!
I am excited to continue my teaching journey here at Central with amazing families and incredible students! It’s going to be a great year. GO TITANS!
Michelle Rael
Welcome to 6th grade! I am thrilled for the year ahead. I am excited to meet you and get to know you!
I grew up in upstate New York. I attended SUNY Cortland and earned an Elementary Education degree. Upon completion of my degree, I taught in New York and then Hawaii. After moving back to the mainland, I attended Northern Arizona University. I worked as a graduate assistant supervising undergraduate student teachers in the education department while earning my Masters degree in Educational Leadership. This is my ninth year at TCA. Teaching 6th grade at Central is truly a blessing. I love my job and am pleased to be part of The Classical Academy.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. Mr. Rael and I have been married for over 30 years. We have two amazing children, Courtney is 23 and Jeffrey is 21. Our family chose to make Colorado our home after retiring from the military. I enjoy going on outdoor adventures, kayaking, paddle boarding, traveling, exploring new destinations, and spending time with family and friends.
I am honored to work with you and am looking forward to sharing this exciting year together.
Lori Matthews
I am a Colorado native and grew up in Colorado Springs. I have been teaching for 15 years; this is my 10th year at TCA. I have taught at Central, East, and CSP. I earned my teaching degree at the University of Northern Colorado, along with a major in history.
My husband and boys are my greatest gift. My husband and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year. My oldest son, Kaden, is 19 and will return to GCU this fall as he studies Physical Therapy. Oliver is 18 and is a senior at College Pathways. Kaleb is 15 and is a sophomore at TCA High School this year. Lincoln is in 6th grade and coming to Central after having been at East since kindergarten. I love spending time with my family, which usually involves football since each of my boys plays in some capacity. We also enjoy watching the Broncos; at least, we sometimes enjoy it. Some other things I love are coffee (preferably with friends), being outside in our beautiful state, exercising, reading, walking my dogs, and traveling.
I am excited to partner with you and look forward to a great year!
Esther Bobb (para)
Esther Bobb is the happy wife of Carl and grateful mother of Annina and Katrina and two delightful grand-daughters. Esther was born and raised on a farm in Switzerland with five younger siblings (and no TV!) hence her accent and love for books, nature, gardening and hiking in the great outdoors. Educating her two daughters in various settings over twenty years has given her many tools to use in the TCA para setting. Coming alongside children and helping them learn and grow relationally as well as academically is a deep passion she has for her 6th grade students.
Rosie Thompson (para)
Rosie Thompson is happily married to her husband, Rodney, for soon to be 28 years! She is a blessed mother of four children: 3 boys (Jorin 20, Xander 19, and Rodney 11) and 1 girl (Ellie, soon to be 13!). Her two oldest boys were adopted at ages 4 and 5 here in Colorado Springs. Xander joined the Navy and is now in South Carolina. Ellie recently moved over to the North campus and is now in 7th grade. Rodney is here at Central in the 5th grade. She is honored to be a part of this amazing 6th grade team! She absolutely loves TCA, the Titan Creed and the warm and caring environment that TCA provides. She has loved volunteering and being involved as a parent in the past as a room mom and a yearbook rep. She loves to spend time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite past times are taking photos, building Legos with her youngest son, playing board games, hiking, and watching movies.
