Art Show

Art Show Volunteer Sign-Up

We are in need of some 6th grade students to help during the art show. I will talk with each class when they come to art next week, but if you all could also remind students that we need greeters, door holders, and helpers in the gym at the snack table. The art show is Friday, April 25thfrom 5:00 to 7:00. Students can work 20-minute shifts and can sign up with a friend, so that we have 2 students to hold the doors at the main entrance, and 2 students to be the greeters in the atrium area.

NEWS FROM THE 6TH GRADE ART ROOM
Dear 6th Grade Parents,

It has been an exciting year so far with your students! In a short while, students will be starting a Baroque unit in art class. We will be studying the art and architecture of the style and we need your help collecting materials for our Baroque Shoe Sculpture! Each student will need to bring in at least 1 shoe or boot for their sculpture. (Old outgrown shoes are best. Baby shoes, roller skates, and cowboy boots are fine too. If you have two shoes, please send in both shoes for others to share! No flip-flops or fuzzy slippers please. Thrift stores are a great place to find these if you don’t have any at home.) Students need to have a theme for their shoe, such as nature, sports, art, school, toys, games, Legos, etc.

Please also bring in at least 3 items from the following list:

Legos

McDonald’s happy meal toys

Beads and baubles

Plastic or metal bottle caps

Army men, plastic figurine and farm animals

Small race toys (small race cars, wheels, tinker toys)

Marbles or small rocks

Glass stones

Seashells

Golf tees

Golf balls, small bouncy balls

Jacks

Crayons

Buttons

Small Bells

Any other small, cheap trinket you can think of to glue onto the shoe

Please bring the shoe and additional items to the art room (#132) on your regular art day, the week of March 17th-21st . If you have everything ready, feel free to bring them in sooner. Please bring in the items in a labeled plastic bag with the student’s name and class code.

Thank you for your help with this! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

    • Coping and Anxiety
    • Building Healthy Habits of Mind, Body, and Spirit
    • Spalding refresher course
    • Math strategies for grades K-2
    • Math homework help for grades 3-6

We’d love to have you attend!

Art to Remember

Dear Central Parents,

On Monday of this week, we sent out reminder forms for ordering products from Art to Remember. They have over 60 products to choose from, all with your child’s artwork on it!  The flyer has your child’s individual code listed, so please use their code on the website: www.ArtToRemember.com.  If you have any questions for the company, please use their number: 1-800-895-8777, M-F, 8a-5p EST.  The deadline for ordering with free shipping to the school is TODAY, November 15th!  All proceeds go to the Central art department for specialty supplies and projects.  We truly appreciate your support of our art department!

If you’ve lost the order form with your child’s individual code, you can still order for them.  See our Central webpage link below and simply type in your child’s first and last name to see their artwork for ordering:

You can still order past the deadline, just have it shipped directly to your house.
